Maraenui Bilingual School Napier officially opened today their Bikes in Schools opened was opened today. Great welcome onto the school followed by speeches and song. Great to see the students having so much fun riding the bikes.
St Mary’s School Hastings opened by PM 19 February 2010
The official opening of Bikes in Schools was a great day for all the children, teachers, parents, and guests that attended.
It was great to have Sarah Walker, the double world BMX champion, attend and also ride the different bike tracks. The PM John Key had a great time also. He even got on a bike and rode around the 550m bike track. It was great that he choose St Marys School to this for the first time ever.

The new Pump Track has settled and the kids are making the most of it on their BYK’s. The challenge is to do a lap without pedalling!

Getting you up to date
Now that we have our very own Bike On blog we’ll be adding pictures and video from the beginning of the journey, when Paul (McArdle) had the idea to get more kids cycling.
We’ll show you how we built the Limestone Track, the Pump Track, and the Skills Area with the help of The Kennet Brothers and many other helpers.
